Delicious!! Big portions, freshly made, nice people. I ordered the tofu and got green beans and 3 kinds of lentils as sides.

This place is a find. Really good Ethiopian carryout, or eat-in. I get various vegetarian options each time and like everything I get there. The spicy dishes are truly spicy, so if you like that, you are set. I go for mild to medium. All quite good. Hope more people find this gem.

Nice place for a quick bite!
The staff here were super nice and very helpful, the food was good quality and the portions were good for the price!
It's located just up Sligo Ave so the parking is not bad since it's slightly off Georgia.
Definately recommend checking it out! -

$12.95 for a build your own bowl with spicy beef as my protein. (There are cheaper ones that have chicken as protein)
Price varies depending on protein and what you get:
- Choice of 1 Protein
(I got spicy beef, the beef was tough, flavored well though. I wasn't a huge fan of the pearl onion chunks in it)
- Choice of 1 Base
(Injera bread was my pick)
- Choice of 4 Toppings/ Sides
(Spicy Lentils, Yellow Lentils, Cucumber Tomato Mix, and another dish I'm not totally sure about)
- Choice of 1 Sauce
Ethiopian Mild Sauce (Mainly turmeric flavored)
Overall, it was okay. It wasn't the best I had. I originally wanted lamb, but they had to cook that, and I was in a rush so I went for the spicy beef. I love injera bread, so of course that was going to be my base. I wasn't totally sure what the names of the sides I picked were, I just know them by eyesight... (work in progress). Spicy lentils are always a solid choice.
She recommended the Ethiopian mild sauce, which was good with everything else, but I also realized the turmeric reminded me too much of this Vietnamese fish dish my family loves so I wish I tried another sauce. I also made the mistake of thinking the toppings were different than the sides, so I made the wrong selections.
The taste was too salty for me overall. I think I would like to give it a try again. If you're in a rush and want a single serving of Ethiopian food, definitely come here. If you want to splurge, dine in, I would go somewhere else in Silver Spring and pack the leftovers. -

Went to experience something different today, Express Ethiopian food. The only cook the meats to order, the rest is setup like Chipotle where to pick what you want. I had the spicey lamb with kale, spicy lentils, cabbage, string beans, feta, and jalapenos. The lamb was seasoned well and tender. I would definitely come back. The young lady who took my order was very helpful. The chef was great, he came out and spoke with me and had me sample the kale with beef, just awesome. This brother, chef Zinahbizu was so cool and down to earth. I will definitely be back. The cabbage was very good also.
